The Buzz has been serving us now for 15 months. It has gone from the sleapy, rear-facing, reclined infant days to the upright-sitting, barely holding him in, front facing mode. A couple of quick notes:

We had a MacLaren Triumph that was graciously given to us by friends. I had placed it on our baby registry after doing some research on better folding strollers and coming up with MacLaren (duh!). The Volo seemed too sparse; the Triumph seemed the right mix of comfort and portability. It was available in a (sort of) sophisticated midnight color, with a nicely upholstered seat and had a storage basket. I was sold. Of course, we could not use a “sit-up” stroller until 6 months after Zubin’s arrival which gave enough time for the arrival of the Quinny Zapp. (more…) Filed under: Strollers and Gear and Parenting 101 Comments: None Related Posts:

Gizmodo has written up the Buzz as the technocrat’s choice in offspring mobility. They’ve also issued a challenge to US makers: make a dude’s stroller. A nice thought, but the marketing economics outside of the US coasts seem frail in the face of the puritanical separation of the sexes that persists in the heartland. And then there is the post-Sex in the City hyperfeminization of all things womanly; which probably means that marketing and branding baby products for men will have to wait. Sorry SAHDs.
