I have to admit that I had a special sparkle in my eye when I was handed my newborn, burrito wrapped son in the operating room. That special sparkle was from one of the stray thoughts that came into my head in this surreal, foggy, teary state of things: “Kid, you are going to have the BEST toys!” I have kept to that mental promise. Searching out the coolest items for Zubs to have. Unfortunately, I was not told that his interest in toys would be nearly zero through the first 20 months. Since Zubin began crawling, he achieved the most enjoyment playing with the following items in chronological order:

My lovely wife, Zubin and I are expecting a second addition to our family. Due date March 8, 2007. The decision to have a second child is as joint a decision in principle as the first. What I realized is that while both husband and wife can (and should) agree in principle, the timing of this is not exactly a point of contribution for Dad. Considering that the biological impact on a woman’s body and the amount of activity it creates (you actually become friends with the fetus), the decision was basically announced to me. The first time was a bit different, much more of a “when should we?” type of discussion. Whereas this one was more of a “let’s go”. It’s been a tough couple of weeks with this development in the pipeline, amongst the other responsibilities. Filed under: Parental fawning and Breeding Comments: 5 Comments Related Posts:

The more interesting development is that my title of daddy has been stripped. Now when Zubin awakens with the pulsating morning milk-thirst, his first move is to his milk-maid. Joy. Joy. JOY!!!! I kind of like the fact that he knows my name is not Daddy. Filed under: Parenting 101 Comments: None Related Posts:

What is the deal with moms trying to make comments while I am so obviously engaged in a very serious game of swing-duck (that’s where Zubin tries to kick me from the swing and I duck). Yes, he is my son. Yes he has nice hair, alot of teeth, eyes, ears etc. Smack! Two size 6 Robeez to the sternum. Dad is down, dad is down! Filed under: Parenting 101 Comments: None Related Posts:

I’ll use Zubin’s favorite request to introduce the next post.
Hmm…seems that daddy has gone from a solid #2 to 4th on the Zoo Love Chart(tm). In the absence of Thamma (grandma) and with the recent rash of aunt visits, Zubin has been asking for all types of people.
