Earlier this year, wifey and I made a short video for Z a few days before he was born. I guess we wanted him to know how a little of his parents before he was born and that we were simply, ecstatically awaiting his arrival.

Now I hope to extend and share this process by writing a periodic short note to Zubin. And so here is the first:

Dear Zubin,

At 7 months you have brought us a simple joy and happiness we could not have known otherwise. Your burgeoning personality and growing mobility are scarily impressive. Your mother and I have our hearts broken every morning leaving you and then reforged when we see you again in the evening.

On the topic of mother, I am convinced that you have the best mother in the world, ever. We will talk about her more in some ensuing communique, but know this: she has brought me/us to a higher existence by sacrificing and giving more than I thought humanly possible. Every morning she brings you from your nursery to our bed to spend an hour before waking near you. When you are able, give nothing short of all your love to her.
