So, nearly half a year has gone by and unbelievably quickly at that. Zubin has gone from a skinny little survival-specialist to a smirky, bouncy, happy little punk. We will keep you apprised of his new moves as Zubin goes into his second semester. Filed under: Parental fawning Comments: None Related Posts:

So, we still have not decided who the Z-unit looks like. In the beginning we were just happy that he was around. Now we are trying to figure out who the hell he is. It seems that the 6 month mark is where he has decided to bring HIS personality to bear (or maybe we are just out of the every 45 minutes feeding haze). All of the new demonstrative emotion is exposing an array of expressions daily. It is kind of like having a funny little mime/comic guy in your house all the time. Anyway, without further delay, we present the first Neosophic.com poll at left. I have included the pictures below for your reference.

Yes, the Buzz is a nice piece of machinery. It makes strolling around with Zubin a bit of an event, especially when the Bugaboos and Stokkes congregate like hot rodders at the Madison Park playground. Zubin likes it so far. After the jump, some more pics and details. The stroller frame is mainly aluminum tubes, which gives it a nice industrial sort of visual strength. I mention the stroller frame separately, because we actually use two pieces as seats for Zubin. The Maxi-Cosi Cabrio carseat is a nice bit of kit in its own right, and it served as Zubin’s stroller seat right up until two weeks ago. Now that he has got a bit of sitting sorted out, we have started using the stroller piece. Although Quinny claims that you can use this thing from birth, we tried putting Zoo in there when he was three months and well, he was sliding around like penguin on a glacier. He loved it, but we thought that the carseat would be the parental thing to do. (more…) Filed under: Strollers and Gear Comments: None Related Posts:

Pictures of Zubin’s Annaprasan (Rice Ceremony for the Anglos) are up on the Photos section. The reception was great and Zubin got to meet all his guests, and then promptly got bored of them and fell asleep.Filed under: Parental fawning and Parenting 101 Comments: None Related Posts:

His personality is showing more and more and he becomes more decisive as his preferences develop. He is growing more and more dissatisfied with his immobility and is taking it on himself to improve his situation through a regimen of crunches and rollovers. He also dislikes the fact that he has to sleep at all (takes after Dad) and is caught off-guard by his nightly power failure. He has become expert at eating solid foods quicker than I thought he would (especially considering that baby food is pretty bland and we are giving him the all natural “Organic Harvest” stuff to boot. Bleh.). Where initially he had trouble coordinating mouth, tongue and jaw, he now has got the trio working together making eating more satisfying than before. His solution-oriented nature and adaptability makes me wonder how we would do with no context for failure. No understanding of relative progress, just absolute progress. An unlimited and instinctual appetite for rehearsing completely foreign procedures such as eating with a spoon (a rather baroque technique compared to the intuitive elegance of a breast).
I am writing this as a result of numerous requests and an incredible number of street stoppages by interested parents (how does is ride?), parent’s to be (do like it?), grandparents (where can I buy one for my kid?), kids (hey what a weird looking stroller!), construction workers (hey nice wheels son!).
